The Lleida-based company reaffirms itself as a benchmark in Arbequina extra virgin olive oil with D.O.P. Les Garrigues
Alcarràs (Lleida), November 2025. – Gaudea, a producer of Arbequina extra virgin olive oil, has closed its last campaign with a 36% increase in production per hectare compared to the previous season. This increase is attributed to particularly favorable climatic conditions —with optimal rainfall and temperature during flowering and fruit set— and to better agronomic management, with more careful pruning, efficient irrigation and exhaustive pest control.
During this year's harvest, more than 498,000 kilograms of olives were harvested, which allowed the production of nearly 98,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil. Of this total, 318,046 kilograms correspond to conventionally produced olives, with 66,839 liters of oil obtained; 40,739 kilograms come from organic cultivation, which generated 7,380 liters; and 140,175 kilograms of olives have given rise to 23,642 liters of green oil, the brand's earliest and most intense variety.
Since its foundation in July 2020, Gaudea has experienced constant growth in both cultivation area and production volume. The company began its activity with 52 hectares of olive trees and currently manages 65, with plans to expand by 10 more during the next campaign. This evolution has been accompanied by a sustained increase in turnover, which reached 486,000 euros in 2024 and is forecast to reach 625,000 euros for 2025, driven by the good reception of its three main references: green oil, conventional oil and organic oil.
Located in Alcarràs, in the heart of the Segrià region, Gaudea produces its oils exclusively from Arbequina olives using mechanical processes, thus preserving all the natural properties of the fruit. The three varieties maintain the quality that distinguishes oils with the Les Garrigues Protected Designation of Origin, guaranteeing an exceptional organoleptic profile and complete traceability from the field to the bottle.
According to Gerard Camps, director of Gaudea, “this campaign confirms that our project is moving in the right direction. The daily effort to take care of every detail of the cultivation and the production process allows us to offer an oil with high added value, capable of transmitting the essence of our territory. Quality is not the result of chance, but of a way of understanding the work, with respect for the land and passion for what we do”.
With a vision of the future oriented towards sustainability, innovation and quality, Gaudea continues to grow year after year, consolidating its presence in the market and reaffirming its commitment to the territory and to the value of local extra virgin olive oil.
